Cause:
Oscillation of the K2 clutch control valve causes bore wear that prevents proper hydraulic actuation of K2 clutch.
Correction:
Recover hydraulic control and renew shift performance by reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax K2 clutch control valve kit.
K2 clutches in Aisin AW TF-60SN (VW/Audi 09G, 09K, 09M) and Mini 6F21WA units are applied in 4th, 5th and 6th Gears in conjunction with other clutch packs. As the K2 clutch control valve oscillates and strokes over time, bore deterioration results, which prevents proper hydraulic control of the K2 clutch pack. This can cause flares, slipping, erratic clutch apply timing, ratio codes, and burnt K2 clutches. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized K2 clutch control valve kit resturns normal shift operation by restoring the hydraulic integrity of the K2 circuit.
