Cause:
Normal wear and tear; replacement aftermarket bushings are too loose.
Correction:
Replace the worn bushing with this new more tightly toleranced bushing.
The bell housing bushing on GM 180C, 4L30-E and AR25, AR35 transmissions becomes worn due to normal wear. Excessive clearance between the bell housing bushing and the converter hub will cause a front seal leak. Simply replacing the metal-clad seal will not fix the problem. Current aftermarket bushings do not fit the converter hub tightly enough and can have more clearance than a worn OE bushing. This Sonnax bell housing bushing is designed to fit the converter hub properly and eliminate front seal leakage.
