Cause:
Excessive bore/valve wear allows circuit cross-leakage that exhausts critical oil pressure and volume. Wear at the inboard valve spool may cause high line pressure. Wear at the other spools will typically lead to low line pressure.
Correction:
Restore proper hydraulic control by refurbishing the bore and installing the Sonnax oversized secondary pulley/pressure regulator valve kit.
In Jatco/Nissan JF015E (RE0F11A) transmissions, the secondary pulley/pressure regulator valve controls oil pressure in the secondary pulley circuit. The secondary pulley circuit also functions as main line pressure, supplying oil to the primary pulley regulator valve, solenoid regulator valve, TCC regulator valve and TCC control valve. Secondary pulley/pressure regulator valve or bore wear leading to loss of secondary pulley oil pressure control may affect the function/timing of actuators, brakes and clutches controlled by all of the valves. This may cause symptoms including chatter on acceleration, push belt slippage, surface fretting and metal contamination. Low pressure can disable the secondary pulley mechanism, freezing the primary/secondary pulley ratio.
Reconditioning the bore and installing this Sonnax oversized secondary pulley/pressure regulator valve kit can restore optimal pressure in the secondary pulley circuit.
