Cause:
Loss of pressure control to the secondary pulley. Low pressure to the pulley causes chatter, push belt slip, surface fretting and metal contamination. With low pressure, pully diameter will not change and ratio remains the same.
Correction:
Refurbish the bore using the Sonnax tool kit and install the Sonnax secondary pulley control valve kit.
In Jatco/Nissan JF010E (RE0F09A/RE0F09B) transmissions, the secondary pulley control valve regulates oil pressure in the secondary pulley circuit. Loss of pressure control may cause symptoms including chatter on acceleration, push belt slippage, surface fretting and metal contamination. Low pressure can disable the secondary pulley mechanism, freezing the primary/secondary pulley ratio.
